Lakehead Public Schools saw improvement in most categories of the province’s Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) assessments.

Grade 3 students saw their math scores increase to 70.5 per cent up from 58.4 per cent the previous year.
Grade 6 student math scores were up to 51.1 per cent from 43.9 per cent in 2022-2023.
More than 51 per cent of Grade 9 math students met the provincial achievement standard in 2023-24, up from 49 per cent in 2022-23.
“We are pleased to see that the majority of Lakehead Public Schools’ most recent EQAO results are trending in the right direction, however, it is important to note that this data does not encompass all that is required to ensure our commitment to the success of every student,” said Director of Education Sherri-Lynne Pharand. “These results will guide us on which initiatives and programs are achieving success and where we focus our efforts on continual improvement.”
