wo Bellefontaine High School students competed in the Muddy Mini Half-Marathon Saturday.
Brothers Eli Murphy and Nate Murphy both had great finishes.
Nate’s chip time was 1:41:03 finishing 57th overall; his average pace was 7:43 earning him the 2nd place for his division (13-15 years old).
Eli’s chip time was 2:05:33 finishing 192nd out of 590 participants; his average pace was 9:36.
Their run included a scenic point-to-point half marathon which started in the uptown district of Maumee, Ohio, voted the best hometown in Ohio. They ran down to Sidecut Metropark to a U-turn that brought them back along River Road, through residential Historic Maumee homes, past the Toledo Country Club, and into downtown Toledo. There was an exclusive finish in the outfield of the Toledo Mud Hens ballpark, voted one of the best minor league ballparks in America.

Moving forward, they are training for Bellefontaine High School’s upcoming cross country season with Coach Ben Davis.
Both will be second year cross country participants for BHS.
Eli will enter the 2017/18 school year as a senior and Nate will be a sophomore.
